I’m always careful if someone emails me and their name has a fada to use it. I can’t speak Irish but they are there for a reason.
Some fun examples

Órla (name) - Orla (vomit)
Tonóg (a duck) - Tónóg (small-arsed)
Anás (poverty) - Anas (Anus)
Cáca (cake) - Caca (shit)

And, at least on my Apple products, Órla is so easy to type! I think some people are just lazy (and extremely ethnocentric). I try my best.
