keep going back and forth on collating a personal photo project around the notion of the Northern Ireland sea border and the transient and temporary nature of all borders really.

Images from walks around the coast.

Aesthetically the images are all quite different and not "oooh pretty landscape"

Dunno. Might happen, might not lol

Something like these.

@process

If my vote counted, I would say do it. It's a really strong idea that could easily turn into a book or a show if that were something that interested you.

@LiseL thank you, it does very much count. Been sounding it out in my head for ages and when I'm out for walks. That notion of attempting to create borders and dividing lines in the physical sense yet erosion, change.... no border is forever. etc etc lol

It's the collating then trying to tie together I struggle with

@process

Get the photos together and spend time with them until the connections reveal themselves. This isn't the kind of project you can rush. But it's perfect for you.

@stueytheround thank you Stuey!

Print on Demand is amazing but jeez the price required for decent quality.

@process
I don't know what they charge, but fwiw I've bought coffee table photography books for Β£25-Β£35 pounds. Up to Β£50 isn't uncommon. So if there's profit for you in that, go for it.

@stueytheround aye profit isn't a motivator for me at all, but even 100 pages of a good paper stock and it's heading > Β£50 cost.

If I do keep at this as a personal project I'll maybe get one printed up and chat to people I know at local Galleries, sound them out. Well out of my comfort zone but I do think the idea has merit, to me at least lol

@process Ouch!
I was about to post this because it cost £25 in 2008 but hey, now it's just a recommendation of a really good book 🀣

@process Talking of which, this one by David Noton was a gift from my inlaws. Worth a read for inspiration of putting your pictures together.

@process

I love your photography. As proof, one of your gorgeous photos is on my living room wall.

You're incredibly talented. I hope you do this project, then I'll have a book of your beautiful photos on my coffee table. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’ž

@process I love the idea! It reminds me of a book I read on the theme of trails (where the author tracked down one of the first trails, a fossilized creature who fell from its base and made a trail to get back home.)

Your images and the theme of borders strikes a chord. Especially in *these times*!

@CJLavoie thank you, yes these times indeed. I’m uncomfortable with the rise of Nationalistic tendencies and the building of walls. Culture and lines in the sand shift over time, we should accept and embrace that imho.

@process
Sounds like a great idea for a project. The pictures I see and the third one there strike me, looks like a path to follow.

@process

You really should. πŸ‘ πŸ‘

Your work wouldn't fall under the exploitative, but I can tell you from experience with other NI artists that there's a massive market for Eireophillia just in the USA; slap a picture of a whitewashed cottage on it and they'll snap it up … πŸ˜‚
