I will have lunch with a friend today, then late this afternoon the local bank will have a customer appreciation day event with free food. This works in a small town where people actually know each other.
So it's FOOD DAY!
Occurred to me while pondering Tuesday's debate. The lines might better fit Giuliani, who was actually respected for his response to 9/11 (despite other issues).

Not having a living memory of that day is probably better.
My son's memory of 9/11. (Note he wasn't attending a public school)

He's 30 now. The pool of people who have no living memory of the day keeps growing.

The "meme" about Haitian immigrants stealing and eating cats and dogs and geese and ducks is not essentially different from the mediæval "meme" that Jews stole infants , drank their blood, and ate their flesh*, now known as the blood libel. Both were intended to dehumanize the minority group and prepare the majority to execute genocide against them.
*Recently resurfaced as part of the QAnon conspiracy theories.

@TheresaVermont i have been told by my doctors that the ONLY reason i did not die of my cancer in 2009 was because i did NOT have health insurance. if i had insurance, they would have had to get permissions for every test, waiting weeks to get decisions between each test, & then permission for surgery.
because i was uninsured, they could do multiple tests at once (ultrasound & MRI on the same day), and surgery within 5 weeks of first diagnoses.

@TheresaVermont it makes me laugh (bitterly) when idiots drag out the tired trope of having to wait months for health care in countries with single payer. these are not serious people. these are not people who have actually needed timely healthcare in the US. these are people dripping with privilege...

As the former president turned towards Salaam, he was asked by several reporters whether he would apologize or say anything at all to Salaam, he grinned and pointed at him, quipping: “That’s good, you’re on my side!”
Salaam, obviously taken aback, laughed along with some of the reporters around him.
“No, no, I’m not on your side!” Salaam shot back.
