Hi. Got Skippy Natural Creamy peanut butter. It says "no need to stir." The first thing I needed to do was stir it. It should have said "no use to stir." It remained mushy and oily no matter how much I stirred.
@poemblaze I totally understand. This "stuff" is a mess and almost unusable. The taste isn't great either.
@poemblaze Natural peanut butter doesn't contain partially hydrogenated oils which are artery clogging and heart damaging, that's why the peanut oil rises to the top.
I spend a lot of time mixing it and then I immediately put it in the fridge, it stays mixed.
@Liliki Thanks for the tip.
@poemblaze I think "no need to stir" is marketese for "we made it gloopy by taking out the peanut oil and replacing it with crap and it won't get better if you stir it, so we will try to convince you it's supposed to look like that."
@AskTheDevil @poemblaze but if it's labeled "natural" it shouldn't have hydrogenated palm oil in it... i've never met a natural nut butter that doesn't need stirring because the oil separates in all of them (tahini too)
@redenigma @poemblaze Yeah, but when you stir natural ones, they get good. : )
I'm just ragging on corporate products indiscriminately. It's what I do instead of yelling at kids to get off my lawn.
The kids in our neighborhood are too damn polite.
@redenigma @poemblaze Sometimes, when I was young and ambitious and crunchy, I just ground my own out of nuts. There was usually a _lot_ of extra oil left to use for other stuff, too.
@AskTheDevil @redenigma Ironically I mainly buy it to put in George's Kong toy.
@poemblaze
Did you get the one with honey?
@Brooklyn3r No
A first world problem. Not even a problem.
