Is it an attempted assassination if no shots are fired?
@poemblaze It is an assassination attempt when someone intends to kill someone, but they are stopped.
Otherwise it's an assassination.
@AskTheDevil Well yes. But how far away from the street are you preventing someone from throwing themselves in the street? A block away? Guess I'm getting semantical.

If you try to assassinate someone, and you are stopped, it was an attempt to assassinate someone.
Even if you tried to assassinate them with a marshmallow, it was still an attempt.
@AskTheDevil That's ok. I was thinking more in terms of his not having lifted the gun yet. But I'm on the losing side of this
@poemblaze I suspect so. Maybe you'd stir up more trouble if you ask people why you or I get killed, but someone "important" gets assassinated.

Basically, if you try to do something and fail, no matter how bad you are at it, it was an attempt at whatever.
