This crepe myrtle is ~5 years old. It started out as a twig with a root sent from the Arbor Foundation. #flowers #CoSoPhotography
@poemblaze Lovely! How tall is it?
Against the odds, I planted one here. It's a dark red leaf with close to that color blooms. I'm half a zone too cold but cannot wait 20 years (or even 10 years) to change that zone... if It gets close to it's lower temp limit I'm going to set up a heat lamp or something...
@TrueBloodNet About 8-10 feet? Not good at judging those things.
@poemblaze Oh that's good enough. Mine was 1' when planted and is about 18" in 1 season so I was wondering how big it might get in 5 years.
@TrueBloodNet There are so many varieties. Some are bushes, some are shorter trees, some are tall.
@poemblaze Ahhh OK I didn't realize there were so many sizes. Thanks
@TrueBloodNet I didn't know until I got mine and read up. I still don't know what this specific variety is.
@poemblaze Mine is 'Center Stage' Pink. Supposed to get 6-12 ft. That's a wide range LOL 6 is easily covered. 12'? Not so much 🤷🏻♀️
@TrueBloodNet I've been trying to find a variety name that looks like mine, but I'm not sure.
@poemblaze Do you remember where you bought it?
@TrueBloodNet A friend got an assortment of about 20 different tiny saplings from the arbor foundation as a thank you for filling out a survey. Started asking others if they wanted any. The crepe myrtle is the only one to survive here. So I don't know specifics.
@poemblaze Looks like this one to me: Pink Velour Crapemyrtle

Only one they've ever offered in that color range.
@TrueBloodNet Thanks!
@TrueBloodNet Mine too. I like research. Especially genealogy.
@poemblaze Tracking down stuff is my hobby. LOL YVW
