The old Gemini spacecraft capsule was made in St. Louis. MO at McDonnell Corporation, before they merged with Douglas Aircraft. My older brothers had plastic combination banks shaped like the Gemini capsule. Of course I was envious. But I was born in the last year of the Gemini program. Found a picture online.

@poemblaze

The Seattle Science Center had a Gemini mockup on display in the late 60s. Spent a lot of time in it flipping switches and dreaming

@northernbassist Fun. There was a Gemini capsule at the Planetarium in St. Louis. The Planetarium is now part of a larger Science Center. I assume they still have the Gemini capsule, but it's been decades (?) since I was there.

@poemblaze I had a GI Joe Gemini capsule, complete with the whole spacesuit, helmet, etc. Long gone...no clue where that is...probably a landfill somewhere.

@poemblaze Yeah, one of those childhood things wish I would've held onto.
