Going to do a very thing and list surnames. I'm not going to bother with Smith, for obvious reasons. If you might connect, let me know.

Roach, Clark, Roberts, Stackhouse, McVicker, Merricks, Daniel(s), Parrot(t), Vallat, Laigle, Jeannin/Genin, Donjon, Collignon, Ryan, Faherty, Bertram, Palandt, Clendennin (many variants), Seybold.

Some of the more common names are less likely matches, but ya never know. I could have added many more, but most are WAY back.

@poemblaze My husband has McVickers from Indiana. Earliest is Archibald > David > Thomas Dean > Ethel.

@Myana I have an Archibald who's a brother to an ancestor. Let me check if he went to Indiana.

@poemblaze Archibald died in 1821 (?) in Ohio. It was his son David (b. 1820 Guernsey Co., Ohio) who moved to Indiana. After that, the family stayed put in Grant Co. Indiana.

@Myana Was your Archibald married to an Elizabeth Burns?

@poemblaze Yes, he was. I haven't been able to find out anything about her family though.

@Myana his parents were Duncan McVicker (1737-1818) and Nancy McCollum (1748-1800). They lived in NJ. Duncan was a captain during the American Revolution.

@poemblaze Thank you! I did not know that. I'm heading back East next week, to visit family in New Jersey. Maybe I can slip in a little research time.
