The scale of the hack against United Healthcare's subsidiary Change Healthcare keeps growing.
"Based on the initial targeted data sampling to date, the company has found files containing protected health information and personally identifiable information, which could cover a substantial proportion of people in America," it said in a statement.
That's after it paid $22M in ransom to prevent disclosure.

If you thought CoSo's problems with the Google Play Store were bad, these Australian businesses have been fighting for months to get control of their Facebook and Instagram business accounts after they were hacked.

On 21 April 1856 stonemasons in Melbourne downed tools and walked off the job in protest over their employers’ refusal to accept their demands for reduced working hours.
This brought the employers to the negotiating table and led to an agreement whereby stonemasons worked no more than an eight-hour day.
@Jorro @Tattoomonkey29 My RW friend responded to my email about this with the following:
But, it's well known (maybe not by you?) that the first 10 amendments are significant, as the "Bill of RIghts." So, I can imagine presenting the constitution with the 10 amendments that were immediately incorporated into it.
So I guess his people don't consider the 13th amendment "significant".
#politics Ha! The constitution packaged with the #Trump bible is missing amendments 11 through 27. I guess he doesn't want to offend any confederates who still believe in the lost cause, or anyone that was involved in insurrection, or anyone that thinks that Trump should have more than two terms as president.

#running
Despite very heavy rain, we had 44 runners turn out for this morning's #parkrun at Danehy park, Cambridge, MA. A few were visitors who came for last weekend's Boston Marathon. An Australian, who has run 289 parkruns at 90 different locations, posted the best time today. I am always in awe at the performance of older runners - he's in the M50-59 division.
This is from a Google paper on the ethics of #AI assistants. It doesn't mention the total conflict between an advertising-driven business and the AI assistants it is developing. If you can't trust it now to put your interests ahead of advertisers, what chance is there that you can trust the answers to "where should I go tonight?", "who should I vote for?", "what should I eat?", "can I trust this financial advisor?"

This is the kind of fear-mongering that I receive everyday from the GOP. (I don't know how I got on their distribution list.)
Cory Doctorow's article on the conflict between profits and rents is well worth your time. Capitalism is drifting back to feudalism.

This is a bit rich. Let's say she's an Amazon customer and Amazon suffers a huge breach. Would she be asked to recuse herself from investigating Amazon because of a conflict of interest?
