@paxterrarum also worth pointing out there are two types of stash cards out in the wild
one is banking debit card
https://www.stashinvest.com/online-banking
and the one you have for storing passwords usernames
https://stashpass.ca/products/stash-card
both called "stash"
@ecksmc Yup. The investing app was first. If you ask me, StashPass should've chosen a different name.
@paxterrarum yeah seems a little odd why a company would choose a name already in use
not very smart that
even using StashPass but they went with just stash like the banking one
it's only there website address that uses stashpass
do a search for "Stash card" i got the banking site with articles reviewing it nothing showed for Stash-Pass until i added "encrypted card for credentials"
@ecksmc I wrote a review of the Stash Card back in December. The manufacturer liked it, and offered to send me a free one. It just arrived yesterday. I'll use it for awhile and then write an updated review.
@paxterrarum you wrote a review and hadn't actually used one ??
or is this a newer version they sent you??
i mean, i can write reviews if it means i get free shit lol
@ecksmc lol!
What happened was a friend on Facebook saw an ad for StashPass. She asked me if I'd heard of it, and if I thought it was any good. So for her, I checked out the website, watched their YouTube videos, and wrote a genuinely impartial review with BOTH pros and cons. I had no idea the manufacturer would ever see the review. Here it is:

@paxterrarum i'll have a wee gander 👍
@paxterrarum you pointed on my only drawback on getting something like this or a security key/fob
that is losing it - yeah you can keep hard copies of all credentials or txt/csv files encrypted
(txt & csv files which i do have already so, no biggie there, hard copies of back up codes and password manager master password and key passphrase)
it's more what if someone finds it and what if that someone has skills to get into that data and what if.........etc....
@paxterrarum they aren't cheap either
which is holding me back
with a password manager they'd need to break my pw/passphrase to unlock my phn then figure out my password managers passphrase to unlock that
or maybe i'm just overthinking shit again /shrug lol
anyway let us know your experience with it
@paxterrarum can i also point out you said
"all password mangers have been breached in one time or another"
bitwarden hasn't
Bitwarden always encrypts and/or hashes your data on your local device before it is ever sent to the cloud servers for syncing
if for some reason Bitwarden were to get hacked and your data was exposed, your information is still protected
This is because Bitwarden uses strong encryption and one-way salted hashing
their claim btw
@ecksmc BitWarden review from November, 2019.
There's a known vulnerability. I'm not comparing the password managers or saying which one is best. Well, actually I can say that BitWarden is more full-featured. The reason for this post is to point out that there is no foolproof security, ever, anywhere. Only degrees of risk.
@paxterrarum known vulnerabilities doesn't actually mean they have been hacked and data has been stolen and put on dark net for sale though
@paxterrarum
I would be interested in a brief review, after you use it for a while.
I an still using, and loving my “OnlyKey”.
@paxterrarum read about that a while back somewhere
you are the first ik who has one let me now how you find it
please
