squirrel news.

this morning a black squirrel digging like mad at the back of the garden, through the snow, a hole his head was inside. it was like "i know i put it around here, i know it".

about 15 or so minutes later, i just had to watch, yes, there it is, a lovely black walnut, which he dashed away with to find a quiet spot for a snack.

then, one of the red squirrels figured out how to use the squirrel buster peanut feeder, being small and light was his advantage.
i got some videos of that.

Well, the guys finished installing the heat pump mini split system yesterday in spite of the downpour, so hat's off to West Coast Heating AC and Solar for getting the job done as promised. If you're in San Diego Metro, I recommend them if you're looking for a contractor. The QA guy came today to certify the operation is up to spec. It's not the most attractive addition to the decor, but the room units are quiet and seem to work well. Same for the outside heat exchanger.
