Third parties cannot win because America is (and almost always has been) a two-party system. Over the course of that history, new parties have emerged, but they evolved from and replaced existing parties.
TLDR: You want a better party to vote for? Join one, and change it from within. Otherwise, your vote is being wasted on idealistic naivety. @nova
