Who was the last Republican President you liked?
My wife's choice was Jerald Ford, Tedy Rosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Mine was Eisenhower. Who was yours?

@normsmusic
In my 51 years here in the UK I can not think of *one* Conservative leader I've liked.
The best of the bastards was probably John Major but it's a very low bar.

@stueytheround Thanks for your input from the otherside of the pond. I know the name but realize how ignorant I am about the consertives in my mother's homeland. In my defence, England has never done much for Scotland.

@normsmusic In my lifetime, none. Before that, Eisenhower.

"As we peer into society's future, we – you and I, and our government – must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering for our own ease and convenience the precious resources of tomorrow."

That's what being a "conservative" used to mean. Too bad Reaganites didn't listen.

@sanau Thanks, for me "In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."

@normsmusic Eisenhower was the last one who tried to be everybody’s president.
