During the 1960s, Lufthansa flights offered draft beer to passengers, a time before even a petite woman experienced discomfort on my flight due to the narrow seats and cramped legroom, resulting in a hostess frantically requesting passengers to remain seated despite the excruciating discomfort, yelling at us, You Vill Sit Down.
The 'Iter Avto', the 1930's version of a GPS. Developed by Touring Club Italiano, this device was more like a “map guidance tool” and came with a set of paper maps. It was tethered to the car’s speedometer that kept the scrolling of the map in proportion to the speed of the car.

Our tour guide in 2015 got off the bus all decked out in high heels and direct traffic because we were in a log jam for an hour after she watched a police officer on a motorcycle clear the traffic for himself only. We barely made it in time. She called the Moulin Rouge and said you will save their dinners. We ended up eating our dinners while the show went on. It was at the end of our AMA Waterway to Normandy trip. Great memories

In the 80”s an international flight from Paris to NYC fresh baked croissants, french coffee in real cups was served with a choice of the morning edition of Le Monde or the NYTimes. Of course if you wanted to nap later, a pillow (with pressed case) and an airplane blanket would be provided. Naturally reclining your seat back was not a bother to the passenger behind you. All this was in economy seating!
