Never Biden. If he’s the nominee, yes, I will vote blue, etc.
But I don’t like him one bit.
Really? JOOC, why?
I'm not asking to start any ruckus; frankly, I see him as...a fairly inoffensive candidate.
To be clear: I would LOVE to see a woman in office (& see America join the ranks of...well, the rest of the civilized world), however, I fear we're just so very backward, a female candidate running against a male candidate would hand it to the repubs.
At this point, I'd vote for a damned legume over Trump, frankly.
That said... I can't really disagree with you there.
To be clear, if (say) ten years from now, AOC runs for POTUS, she'll likely have my vote (assuming I'm still above ground); my fear - which seems alarmingly accurate - is this country is too damned puritanical & misogynistic to have a female president :(
I stand corrected (why do I keep thinking she's 26...? That was the reason I was thinking circa 10 years; 9; whatever. I'm not getting brighter with age).
Well, if I'm around in 2024 (fingers crossed), I'll vote for her then.

I spent many years in what is now her district. She is such a true representation of the majority of her constituents.
I’ve known many women like her.
They are the nicest, kindest, most enthusiastic, sincere people.
Do not ever cross them, or try to make things difficult for them.
Pure steel and firecrackers.

They forgive.
They don’t forget.
Ever.
The teenager who sweeps the hallway, just because she thinks it’s the right thing to do, she knows about that time you pissed off her Abuelita.
Even though she wasn’t born yet.
I kid you not.

While I can't prove this, I had a conversation with my mother about this in the 1980s, and I said at the time (and she actually agreed) that America would see a "black *man* [as POTUS] before a *woman* would ever be elected".
So...while I was overjoyed to see Obama in, I was kinda saddened as well, as it...well, it kinda made my prediction right.
Iceland, the UK...I don't care to list every single country that's evolved past us; it's kind of a bummer :(

I said it in the spring of 2008.
I’ve never shared this, but my daughter and I watched that official nomination festivity, in 2016. I held her close to my face and whispered “No more limits. Dream it, work for it, have it”. It’s the closest I’ve come to tears since I don’t remember when. Maybe 2009.
The election results took my major depression, and threw a molotov cocktail into it.
@netspionage @Kitty62862 @TheAbbotTrithemius Merida....still more sexist than racist!

Ten years not needed.
Baby girl reaches constitutionally mandated minimum age in October of 2024. Prior to Election Day.
(I call her baby girl out of affection and admiration. She’s a Bronx Latina. They’re made of steel and firecrackers 😎)
