"The White Rose (German: Weiße Rose, pronounced [ˈvaɪ̯sə ˈʁoːzə]) was a non-violent, intellectual resistance group in Nazi Germany which was led by five students and one professor at the University of Munich: Willi Graf, Kurt Huber, Christoph Probst, Alexander Schmorell, Hans Scholl and Sophie Scholl. The group conducted an anonymous leaflet and graffiti campaign that called for active opposition to the Nazi regime."

On Feb. 22, 1943, 3 members of the White Rose (Weiße Rose), a non-violent student-led resistance group in Nazi Germany from the U. of Munich (Hans and Sophie Scholl (brother and sister), and Christoph Probst) were executed by guillotine 4 days after their arrest, for distributing the pamphlets.

Consequences are even more dire when fascism/ authoritarianism is already in place.
