How long before trust in online transactions disappears entirely? In Brooklyn for a couple weeks now, a network of three hospitals canโt get ahold of their medical records because of a hack.
@GreenCheese
the bigger problem is that there *never* should have been trust placed soley in online info/transactions to begin with--there's no such thing as 'totally secure' digital data online...period.
@naikarrah
What a mess.
Paper wasnโt completely secure either I guess. A couple years ago the warehouse holding the paper medical records for most. Area hospitals burned down.
that sort of thing was at least far more rare than hacking/ransomware/trojans/etc.
the simplest viable protection is closed network/completely offline backups+storage, in case of emergencies such as Brooklyn's hospitals is experiencing.
@naikarrah I canโt believe they didnโt have all this stuff backup off line. S
