^^ @Museek did you know about this?
Is it normal for the legislator who introduces a bill and the co-sponsors to be the only members of the subcommittee studying a bill for recommendation??

@naikarrah no.. I didnโ€™t know about it and no, that wouldnโ€™t seem to be normal! Now Iโ€™d like to look it up. Thanks for sharing.

@naikarrah I donโ€™t even know anymore. The world seems to have passed me by. Iโ€™m not usually active in politics except for things that are particularly important to me, like climate, certain native issues, child protection and violence against women. Iโ€™ve not ventured too far into anything until Trump came along and began doing things that hurt us, as a country.

@Museek
both of my parents were very strong and active regarding politics, but i feel like i tend to look at politics most often through a (somewhat black & white) lens of ethics, legalities, legalism, and community/commonwealth? if that makes any sense-lol!

@naikarrah it makes sense. Maybe you figured out early on how to strip issues down?

@Museek
definitely that! i also kind of picture what day-to-day very long term effect(s) policies or platforms may have on my town, my friends, my country, the global community, on national law(s), etc...

@naikarrah I try hard not to get involved in political structures that I'm not under, but here a question... isn't terrorism a "political ideology"?

@rob_johnston
i'm sure a pretty solid case could be made for terrorism--if it's called "Nazi" or some such, but this also gives me the cringies because of so much political misinformation right now.

@naikarrah do they realize that this means THEY can no longer discriminate against communists, socialists, etc? it's written like the typical clueless GQTea billmill nonsense that totally disregards the possibility of any unintended consequences

@redenigma
it conceivably protects members of organisations like Qanon or the Neo-Nazis--but i feel like it also muddies the waters for crimes like hate speech, even at the Federal level?
on the other hand, it covers 'heathen liberals' as well--lol!
