Vocab word of the day:
Antimacassar - A piece of cloth put over the back of a chair to protect it from grease and dirt (or as an ornament). The name comes from the cloth flap on a sailor's shirt which kept macassar oil off of their uniforms. Macassar oil was a popular hair product used by men in the early 19th century.
