What if every room had natural light coming in thru the ceiling, at least five (adjust for room size), one center and one towards each corner, portals to bring in outside light?
To get outside light into those portals use reflective tubes attached to bubbles mounted on the roof. Perhaps the entire roof ridgeline is lines of light gathering bubbles integrated with attic and room vents.
An idea for more light and air inside.

Valid concerns.
Vents should be able to be opened and closed as needed.
The light tubes have the insulation provided by the air in the tube and it is a closed system both top and bottom so no draft anytime.
Placement of vents and light tubes along the ridgelines minimizes leakage possibility, because there is no water running down the roof from above to get trapped along the top edge and seep under the roofing.
