Just happened again - minimized Safari browser window, saw a work email that will require me to use the browser, toggled back to browser (with as the active tab), and what sounded like at least a couple of different audio ads started playing. Weird.

Other social media spaces encourage this horrible cycle of begging, chasing, and even demanding engagement from others … it also does the same TO you with notifications, algorithms, and general popularity brainwashing. The wonderful thing about CoSo is NONE of that trash matters here.

You’re not a brand, you’re just you. You’re not a product, you’re a person, and whatever you want to put out there of yourself is really just you being free to be epic and share who you are. ❤️

Never buying books from again. Have had a few issues with new books not being in new condition, and today was charged for a replacement book even though the original, which had a bad binding, was returned within what I THINK the return window was (20 days). I say THINK because when I went back to the return page to verify this all I could find as far as a required return date was 1/31/23. Going to local bookstores for books from now on, or the library.

"In the race for Harris County Judge, the GOP tried to win based on a 'crime wave' that experts say just doesn't exist."

So the GOP LIED?!?!?! I"m shocked (said no one)!

Anyone else experience audio for what seems to be multiple ads playing when clicking on the browser tab where they have open? That's been happening more & more and it's rather disconcerting. I use Safari on an iMac.

Had to run to get my AirPods…wife is watching TFG’s announcement on cnn. 🤦‍♂️
Are we really going to have to listen to that whiny, fat f*** for the next few years? 🤬

West Texas skies, from a 2006 trip to Big Bend National Park

Have to admit I'm not at all missing "retweet this if..." posts.

Today would have been Greg Lake's 75th birthday. Lake was the vocalist on some of progressive rock's most iconic songs with King Crimson & Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
If you're a fan, read his autobiography, "Lucky Man" (a song he wrote at age 12).

Decided to check out Mastodon. So far I like the interface much better.

Waiting for the night skies to clear so I can capture some more distant photons, so here's something from 2013, Comet PANSTARRS & the setting moon.

Texas’s axis of evil - Abbot, Patrick, Paxton - all won. I hate it here.

Over 50% of the adults in this country are illiterate. How can we expect them to vote in the best interests of the country?

Just watched last night’s John Oliver. This country is so fucked.

Player who is out of bounds can, by just touching the football, overturn a fumble recovery (of a ball he fumbled) by the opposing team. 🤔
