Today would have been Greg Lake's 75th birthday. Lake was the vocalist on some of progressive rock's most iconic songs with King Crimson & Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
If you're a fan, read his autobiography, "Lucky Man" (a song he wrote at age 12).
@mike54 that's an all around amazing song. At WVU, we played it during one of our halftime shows, and it's one of my top 3 favorites that we played while I was in college.
@SterlingArcher86 Wow! That's awesome! Can't say if I've ever heard it played by a marching band!
@mike54 this is MSU's marching band playing it. This is really close to the arrangement we used. We would play all kinds of music that you wouldn't normally think of for marching band. Malaguena was another really fun song we did.
@mike54 ah here's my 3rd of 3 favorite songs. I might be a little partial, but I think the sounds that the Pride of West Virginia makes are just a little sweeter than other bands. Lol
@SterlingArcher86 that’s really cool!
@mike54 thank you! It's not a genre of music everyone gets excited about, but I enjoy spreading the love lol
Should have included this, too.https://youtu.be/tcdZTmzTYFU
