@TheAbbotTrithemius Thanks very much! This image was captured using an Astro-Tech AT72EDII refractor, ZWO ASI1600mm monochrome camera, Red/Green/Blue & Hydrogen Alpha filters, and a Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTi mount. Really needed more exposure time but this was actually a night to learn to use some new gear. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised at how well this came out!
Thanks for sharing what you use. @catherineryanhyde does some amazing #astrophotography and shares it here.
And I’ve heard from her the learning curve is pretty steep (for the software and hardware) but obviously well worth it.
I live in a very bright lights big city not amenable to seeing very many stars although when I do get out in the country w few lights and stumble out on a clear evening and look up I am in complete awe of what I see.
@TheAbbotTrithemius I certainly can't argue about the steep learning curve! I feel like that no matter how much time I put into it I'm still a novice at both image capture and processing. Still make too many rookie mistakes, especially during image capture! And that assumes that everything works the way it's supposed to.

Great. There’s a few astrophotographers here, I’m not one but love the photos. What equipment do you use?
