The gastower in the background will be called "The Lush Bunker" and will be home to the "Dark Seam" which will take visitors from the origins of Earth to the formation of coal 350 million years ago.
It will also include space for events and much more! It is certainly exciting! We should hopefully hear if it has been given the green light by Spring 2024!
@mickcarty Wow, that's amazing!
@mickcarty It's going to be amazing, Mick!
This is brilliant! I love how the museum is incorporated into the landscape.
That underground trail give my inner child good chills ;)
@ceorl
The site is, at present, a disused gasworks 😳
Lots to do before it will look like they want it.
So excited, as the original Eden Project in Cornwall is absolutely amazing.
@mickcarty Excellent! The first gasometer I ever saw was in #Manchester. I thought it was an old #Wullenweber circular antenna array (for, you know, reasons) until a local set me straight. Great to see one put to good use.
This will then take you up to the "Living Forest" at the top of the gastower where visitors will be welcomed into a lush planted world full of abundance! The main hub in the centre will be called "The Dundee Hug" which will be home to a shop, cafe and retail units!
