@SomewhatStableSapiens this might be worth a listen -
Stéphane Grappelli and Bucky Pizzarelli
my son studied with a very good friend of the Pizzarelli family at SIUE Jazz. Bucky also was in the Lionel Hampton Quartet in the 1950's.

@SomewhatStableSapiens Benny Goodman had the one of the first integrated jazz combos. Benny Goodman, clarinet; Lionel Hampton, vibes; Teddy Wilson, piano; Gene Krupa, drums, George Duvivier on bass. Often French Romani Guitarist - Jean "Django" Reinhard would play with them.

The Texas Scene and the Chicago scene of the 70's were connected -
Great song writers like John Prine, Steve Goodman, and Michael Peter Smith were recorded by the likes of David Allen Coe, etc.
here is Michael Peter Smith and Dead Egyptian Blues.

@engage in 1977, it was like the greatest sing-along ever - I was at a Queen Concert (which was amazing) in 1980 but this was bucket loads more fun. Imagine 1500 people all singing along...

This was also another great song by Guy Clark and made a hit by Jerry Jeff Walker...

In 1977 I was extremely lucky to see Jerry Jeff Walker at Texas Hall. I am no great fan of Country Western but the Cosmic Cowboy sound was one of my favorite sounds. He recently passed in all the kerfuffle surrounding the election - go figure. So Jerry it is time to go home with the Armadillo...

@ketchup9080 You are correct - in a formal setting. Some of us only use the honorific in a formal setting. For an example, Dr. Biden, is addressed as that since her station in life has a significant amount of formal settings. I am retired and no longer teaching, therefore I never get addressed as Dr.

@th3j35t3r noticed something in Chrome. Sometimes on a reply the botsentinal icon repeats, no biggy - peace.

@jcscher I almost bought one of those Austin-Healy's in 1980.

@th3j35t3r bit old fashioned. I use Mutual funds and commodities along with real estate. Formula has worked fo 39 years.

@PurpleDragon It will be a miracle if she isn't removed by the house for aiding the insurrection. That is what she should be preparing for.
