Basically, several high profile blue checked accounts were protesting the replacement of true verification with the new anyone-can-pay-to-get-a-checkmark-without-proving-they-are-who-they-say-they-are system by changing their name to Elon Musk. And instead of getting the point they were making, he unsurprisingly is throwing a tantrum. He's already suspended Kathy Griffin's account.

So I just checked in to see what was happening on the bird site, and...welp.

New Cosonauts! If you're using this on your desktop and you find the news ticker et. al. annoys you, go into settings and enable "ostrich mode." It will hide all of that extra stuff.

Oh goodie, I think my yearly S.A.D. has hit. Thinking of getting one of those full spectrum visors this year that I can just wear as I move around instead of being stuck sitting awkwardly next to my lamp for at least a half hour every day.
