interesting event this weekend. at a farmers market, we found a booth that was selling infused honey. the booth was operated in the front by a man and several women. the man did nearly all of the talking, even though we tried to engage the women in conversation only to be interrupted by the man. only after we bought a jar of the honey did the man stop talking to us. we were able to find out the booth was full of marketing students who infused local honey as a sales project. Sunspot helping me with sound meditation this morning. Soft purring goes well with the crystal bowl sound.

Coconut cream pie. Because someone loves me enough to make one from scratch. 🥧

The paladin is down. The rogue takes leadership of the party. What adventures await?

Roasted vegetables are my favorite way to get my veggies. The slow cooking enhances the more subtle flavors of the vegetables without making them mushy or hard. Potatoes, onions, peppers, and so many others are great with a well-seasoned cut of meat. And you can do it all in one pot. larryskitchen

Saturday morning hunt at the Maple Valley Farmers Market and the Smoke House in Black Diamond. This should last us for a couple of weeks. Maybe.

When the temperatures drop, a hearty soup is the perfect solution. This is also one of my favorite soups when I’m in Baltimore’s Little Italy neighborhood.

I am a big fan of video game soundtracks. the Hi-Fi Rush soundtrack has a Secret Song that is absolutely heartwarming in its lyrics and heartbreaking after what happened to their studio. give a listen.

sitting down with game designers is so fascinating to me. they generally look at the world differently and are able to see the game within. fun, joy, creativity, entertainment are their goals. I've been able to talk with some gaming legends in the past, but this Richard Garfield interview is incredible.

the party discovered a treasure vault, complete with huge amounts of coin and treasure. after being happy about their newfound wealth, some members began to ponder what it would mean to take all that coin back to the small village they called their homebase. ah, the dilemma of being a successful adventurer.

this looks like it could get me back into the Assassin's Creed flow again.

it is an eating cake right out of the pan kind of day. I leave it to you what that really means.

Smoked brisket and smoked gouda produce a deep and rich flavor for the frittata. Heck, if you wanted to dab a little liquid smoke in when whisking the eggs, I won’t tell.

I've said this twice today, so it must be true.

I can teach skills. I cannot teach passion, energy, enthusiasm, and commitment.

I am not advocating replacing smoked ribs with this version, but when time is short and the desire for ribs is high, this is a really good technique. The two-temperature baking means you’ll get fall off the bone tenderness with a bit of crunch. Works great with baby back as well as loin pork ribs.
