the D&D group are headed to Barovia, and I, as the DM, am absolutely giddy about the prospect. Barovia is probably my favorite place in D&D lore. I'm really looking forward to their adventures there -- for some of them, it is their second time. did they learn any lessons from the first time? HA!

only a few more days until Extra Life Game Day! pondering which games I'm going to play starting at 9 a.m. PT on Saturday, Nov. 2. considering a Prime Play of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which I'm very excited to see.

please make a donation today to help sick and injured kids and their families. then check out my stream on Saturday to see how I do on my first playthrough!

@ceorl too far too fast could be the title of my biography. I think I just found a weak spot and didn't realize it until the next day. hopefully, I will be able to strengthen the area.

yoga isn't supposed to hurt, right? how can I possibly be doing THAT wrong?

listening to David Bowie songs somehow brightens the day. Hunky Dory is probably my favorite album, but it is definitely hard to choose a favorite. He was absolutely an anchor being.

For a while, it seemed like every restaurant was trying to make a spicy chicken sandwich, including some places who should have left well enough alone. All the talk of the time made me want them, but there was no way I was going to wait in those lines. Especially when was right there.

The “If I fits, I sits” principle also applies to canvas bags.

Fried shrimp are like a memory gateway to my childhood. I’m not talking about popcorn shrimp. I’m talking crunchy breaded shrimp with the tails still attached to act as a handle for dunking them into cocktail sauce. And then eating the tail.

Pro tip: No matter how good your reflexes are, do not try to catch a falling mug of tea. It will not work out as you expect. ☕️

In tonight’s D&D adventure, the party tries to pull off a heist and discovers the victim in the midst of a trist. So naturally, I entangle them in vines while a polar bear mauls them and the rogue searches for a strange sword. Meanwhile, the cleric looks on with a mixture of disbelief and disapproval. Just another night in Waterdeep.

Rant/ramble incoming:

I’ve seen quite a few people say, “Looking for a job is a full-time job,” and it couldn’t be more wrong.

I will grant the time and effort in looking for a job may seem like a full-time job. But I don’t know any employment that has emotional swings and bouts of depression on a near daily basis because of inattention, ghosting, lack of feedback, or the boredom of the constant waiting.

@Lucky188 that's the thing. it isn't about money. it is about influence. WaPo is a vanity project for Bezos, and Soon-Shiong (LA Times owner) isn't a news person so doesn't care. if you want it to be about money, stop shopping at Amazon for a year to show Bezos what it means.

the absolute cowardice of these newspaper owners is an exercise in the absence of responsibility. no excuses. gutless.

Much like many recipes in , the original version made by my mom was chicken and dumplings. So incredibly good, I would devour the dumplings and broth before moving on to any of the other ingredients. My version replaces the dumplings with Old Bay and cheddar biscuits. They are great on their own, but they are such a great partner to the chicken casserole in this dish.

"It is not you. Companies are being so dysfunctional now and making repeatedly terrible decisions. No one is looking at long term."

That may be so, but when they consider me their long-term solution, it really doesn't help my employment status. And yes, I do take it personally.

something something muscle memory...

reloaded Fortnite for the first time in years (?) and finished second in my first battle royale back. this game has changed A LOT since I last played. no idea if I can catch up to the meta on this one.

Happy Comic Book Day! Three new beginnings for a few of my favorite heroes, and I love the short stories in The Brave and The Bold. Still not a fan of Wally's new costume though.

Two days into the week and Arthur has had enough. Bring on the weekend.
