yoga isn't supposed to hurt, right? how can I possibly be doing THAT wrong?
In classes I've often been reminded that discomfort is good, but pain is bad.
Perhaps you pushed too far too fast into something you were not ready for?
It is a common misconception that yoga is all gentle stretching and bending, but not real exercise.
I hope you didn't injure yourself, but you should feel like you have worked very hard.
@ceorl too far too fast could be the title of my biography. I think I just found a weak spot and didn't realize it until the next day. hopefully, I will be able to strengthen the area.
Ouch! Injuries can set your training back weeks or months. I know because I've done it myself several times :)

Yoga can definitely hurt if you're trying to do things your body isn't prepared for yet.
