Reddit is trying to strongarm protesting communities into ending their protest by threatening to remove moderators who won’t comply and give sub control to any who agree to reopen. Fuck Reddit and fuck spez. If keeping user-created and user-maintained communities available for Redditors is so important to them maybe they should reconsider their shitty course of action instead of stealing people’s communities and give them to admin collaborators.

Feels like in 2023 we should be past the idea that white people get to decide what’s racist to say to a POC.

@MidnightRider yeah, it’s a 79 C3 and we knew it had problems but not that it was literally unsafe to try to drive! The only symptom we experienced as far as the brakes before it broke down due to other issues was that they felt very soft. Once we put in more fluid and tested it, the brakes started to make terrible grinding sounds.

Actual Corvette update: As it turns out, we’re extremely lucky that the carburetor was busted and we broke down and had to tow it over 100 miles. Not only was it leaking brake fluid, the brake rotors are trashed—we knew neither of those things when we attempted to drive it home—so it was super dangerous to take it on the highway.

This is the “distinctive paint job.” We’ve gotten a number of amusing comments already. Some of the funniest: “It’s the fuckin McVette!”, “Ketchup and mustard, you should call it the hotdog!”, and “Did it come with a mullet and a 12-pack of PBR?”

Here’s an anecdote from the car pickup adventure: As the tow truck driver was hauling the car onto the trailer, my husband mentioned that we had just bought it from a guy in Pascagoula. And the driver said “Oooh that’s where I know it from! I’ve driven past it with the For Sale sign a few times!”
