Maybe it’s weird to mark the birthdays of a dog who is no longer alive, but today would’ve been Georgia’s 16th birthday. She was my best friend for 13 years, nearly half my life at the time she died. I still miss her terribly and I think about her often. She didn’t like toys but she loved cardboard, and she was a great protector. She once chased away a burglar who tried to get into my apartment while I was out. She also liked trying to catch fish in the pond at the park (but never succeeded).

Here is another picture of her because besides being amazing, she was also very cute.

Beautiful pup. She sounds like she had a wonderful full life. 🙂 my brother who is a retired po once told me the best protection for someone who wishes to break in was a dog ( even the ankle biters aka my chi ) .

Sweet memories. Sorry for your loss.

@lemontart I don't really pay that much attention to birthdays, but to those of us who think of our pets as friends, family members, as people we love, it's not weird at all to miss them and remember them for ages.

I had a little white cur, lifetimes ago, and I think of him often, and every time I see a little white dog. I can still hear and smell him and feel him, and think I always will.

I will forget my own name before I forget my beloved Cavval.
