Preliminary results of the bone biopsy on my left foot's third metatarsal: negative for osteomyelitis. I'll get the official results from my foot doctor tomorrow. Hopefully this means no more surgery!!!

I officially have hives on the shin of my left leg. Unfortunately, I'm still healing from the toe amputation surgery, so I can't have a steroid shot for them. Gotta get the OK from my foot doctor tomorrow before my primary doctor will give me steroids for the hives.

AAAUUUGGGHHH

At least he's giving me a topical steroid and some Valium to help with the insane itching.

I have to wear a surgical boot on my left foot due to the amputation surgery I had Friday. Only problem is I've got a *raging* case of hives that extends underneath the boot! The itching is driving me insane!

I've made it through my surgery. The doctor amputated two bones of the middle toe of my left foot and did a bone biopsy of the middle metatarsal, as expected. There were no complications. However, I am a little woozy from the propofol anesthesia, so I won't be able to do much in the way of online stuff today.

Thanks for all of your well wishes. They really helped!

More bad news from my foot doctor. I'm still going to have part of the middle toe of my left foot amputated due to a bone infection, a.k.a. osteomyelitis. Now, though, he suspects that I may be developing osteomyelitis in the distal end (i.e., the toe end) of my middle metatarsal foot bone. So, during the operation to amputate, he's going to do a bone biopsy on my metatarsal.

I just want the pain in that area to stop. Wish me luck, please.

Thank you to everyone for your support. Your turnout has been overwhelming. I promise I'll take care and do my best to recover quickly from my toe amputation.

Got bad medical news today. My foot doctor ordered a bone scan for my left foot on Wednesday due to an infection in my middle toe. Turns out that it is positive for a bone infection - osteomyelitis - and the tip joint (at least) is going to have to be amputated. That's scheduled for Friday, April 26th.

In December of last year, I lost half of the second toe of my left foot due to a bone infection (osteomyelitis). Had to have it amputated.

Today, not even five months later, I was told that I may lose part of the middle toe of that same foot due to the same reason.

A bone scan is being scheduled to determine if I've got osteomyelitis in the bones of the toe. If I do, those bones are going to have to be amputated.

What are the odds?
