BTW, it was time to order a restock of my wife's favorite coffee yesterday. I got on Fresh Roasted Coffee's website and ordered two 72-packs of Organic Drago Coffee Pods. I usually order something for myself as an experiment, but I figure I'm all experimented out for now. 😅 No extra coffee ordered.

Tried the Stevia Leaf & Monk Fruit sweetener with hot coffee today - specifically with the Congo Kivu. Same good result as yesterday with the iced coffee. If anything, there's a bit of a lingering sweetness in the back-center of one's tongue that's not the least bit unpleasant. Recommended, but your mileage may vary.
For general consumption, here's the Amazon link to the sweetener I used:

Whole Earth Sweetener Co. Stevia Leaf & Monk Fruit Natural Sweetener Blend
Works for me. Your mileage may vary.
Trying a little something different with my coffee this morning: a different sweetener. This one contains stevia,, monk fruit, and erythitol, all naturally sourced. I tried it with some Sacred Grounds Dark Horse dark roast iced coffee. Tasted great! No funky aftertaste of any kind.
The Malabar is exacting its revenge. I should have put some Coffee Tamer in that last cup. It's giving me some serious gas.
The Indian Monsooned Malabar is history! I've finally used the last K-Cup of the box. Only the Congo Kivu is left from the Great Light Roast Experiment of 2019.
Going Off The Deep End Experiment #0: Mixing Indian Monsooned Malabar with Sacred Grounds Nikiti Blend. A light roast with a medium roast. Now I'm just screwing around, trying to get rid of K-Cups.
The result is about as drinkable as you can imagine. Browned caramel taste dominates. The other flavors that make these taste good separately nullify each other together, making for a nondescript cup. Won't be mixing these two again.
Had to grab a second cup to break the fog. Indian monsooned Malabar + Congo Kivu mixed together for a quick, strong caffeine burst. It's needed: my pain meds, tranquilizer, and anti-anxiety meds are really kicking my ass and fogging my head today.
Congo Kivu again. No Coffee Tamer, since I haven't eaten anything and am not planning on eating anything anytime soon. Take a walk on the wild side, babe.
Had to get an afternoon cup of Brazil Fazenda Santa Luzia - the last one in the house. I've finally finished off that box!
Also had to switch my coffee cup over to one of those old "motion cups" - the ones shaped like a cone with a wide base. Needed it because it had to go into the basket of my new knee scooter for transportation from the kitchen to the living room. Bummer.
Congo Kivu in the cup this morning, a little change of pace from the usual. Still getting rid of the K-Cups from the great Light Roast Experiment.
I'd forgotten how good Congo Kivu was on its own. Nice stuff. Sort of creamy and spicy, with a light chocolate taste. FRC's hype cannon claims a "tart green apple" taste, which I can *almost* taste in this cup. Still highly recommended.
I haven't even been able to get started on my writing critiques yet. No sooner did the mega caffeine rush kick in than did it fade right back out. I've had to resort to an emergency afternoon cup of Brazil Fazenda Santa Luzia light roast to try and jump start my heart for *normal* web browsing, forget critiquing.
Sacred Grounds Nikiti Blend, Strong Setting further notes:
THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP
THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP
THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP
Damn, that's a caffeine rush!
Made a cup of Sacred Grounds Nikiti Blend on the Strong setting this morning. (Used Coffee Tamer as a precaution.) Not bad at all - good dark chocolate undertones. A fancy way of saying, "I liked it."
Taking a break from the light roasts today. Having a cup of Sacred Grounds Nikiti Blend medium roast. Not quite the caffeine kick, but it'll do.
Today's coffee blend is the same as two days ago. Monsooned Malabar, Congo Kivu, and Coffee Tamer. I need the big caffeine rush after fighting constant bouts of drowsiness yesterday.
No coffee yet this morning - having some trouble with jitters/cramps in my left hand. Drinking Crystal Light lemon tea with Fever-Tree Elderflower tonic water instead per doctor's orders again.
Today's cup: Indian monsooned Malabar + Congo Kivu + Coffee Tamer because I just ate a turkey and provolone sandwich for breakfast. Coffee Tamer is supposed to help eliminate problems with digesting proteins when you drink coffee. Let's find out.
Screwing Around With Light Roast Coffees, Day Zero: Blending Brazil Fazenda Santa Luzia, Indian Monsooned Malabar, and Congo Kivu.
Good lord. There are so many flavors going on here that it's hard to nail them down. Chocolate stands out, as does a bit of hazelnut. The combo makes for a full, robust taste that overshadows the "light roast" stereotype. Then again, it's a good way to get rid of all of the light roast coffee I bought for these experiments. 😋
Today's morning brew is a simple Indian Monsooned Malabar, with a couple of packets of Coffee Tamer for good measure. I'd forgotten how it tastes by itself - it's like a backbone with no ribs. Best mixed with other light roast coffees.
