I am currently test-driving Fire Dept. Coffee's Light Roast K-Cups. Having a bit of a problem nailing down the flavor for a review after just 2 cups. Will report after a few more cups.

If you want to try them or any of their other coffees, use the code FDCOFFEE10 to get a 10% discount at checkout.

Review: Reddi-wip Barista Series Nitro Creamer

This nitrogen gas propellant creamer is advertised to make "the Perfect Latte" if you follow the 4-step process printed on the side of the can - get your coffee, shake can well 4 times, invert can & spray, then rinse nozzle. My first attempt yielded a runny, milky discharge that hardly met standards. Following attempts were better, but I only got 4 sprays out of a 25-serving can. Not recommended.

I've picked out my next K-Cup coffee to test. It's the Light Roast from Fire Dept. Coffee. Normally $13.99 for a 12-pack, on sale for $12.60 with the code FDCOFFEE10.

Moving on to the Lavazza Perfetto Espresso Blend now, brewed on the Keurig's "strong" setting. It's my next to last K-Cup of the Lavazza.

What should I experiment with next, as far as K-Cups go?

Good Morning CoSo!

/me is still trying to rehydrate - I'm drinking triple-berry-infused iced tea. I'll move on to coffee once I'm done with that.

Hmm. I guess 225mg of caffeine doesn't do the trick anymore.

Bring on the Lavazza Perfetto K-Cup, strong brewed!

* pops open a Starbucks French Vanilla Tripleshot Energy coffee beverage (225mg caffeine!) *

Taking the express route this morning ...

Good morning! Bring on the Lavazza Perfetto Dark Roast, CoSo!

An update to my earlier review of Fire Department Coffee's Bourbon Spirit-Infused Coffee (K-Cups).

I have finally managed to eke out some of the bourbon flavor from the coffee. The trick requires a Keurig machine with a "Strong" setting. Simply use that according to the user manual and you'll get the full experience that I believe Fire Dept. Coffee intended for their brew. That said, it's quite good. Still pricey, but recommended.

Fire Dept. Coffee's "Spirit-Infused" Bourbon K-Cup quick review:

This medium roast has a very "clean" taste. No impression of bourbon to be found, except maybe in the aftertaste. Extremely drinkable, though. Would order again, if not for the high price ($17.99 + s/h for a 12-pack, currently on sale for $15.29).

Testing a new brew - Fire Department Coffee's "Spirit-infused" Bourbon Coffee Pods (K-Cups). Just made myself a cup - more to follow.

Trying to steady my nerves with a cup of Lavazza Perfetto Espresso Roast, tempered with the last of my Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha creamer. Hoping it'll keep my eyes open as well, since I only got a couple of hours sleep during the election coverage overnight. 😂

Good morning, CoSo! Waking up with a cup of illy Extra Bold roast from a K-Cup, spiked with Starbucks' White Chocolate Mocha creamer. Not bad, not bad.

Desperately needing afternoon caffeine. Drinking Drago blend with Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha creamer. 'Sokay for now.

Mrs. Capt. brought home some Starbucks. Cold brew with dark cocoa almond milk foam. It sounds better than it tastes - there was absolutely no sweetness to it - it was an exercise in bitterness. I had to whip out four (4) packets of Equal to get it to be palatable. However, once I did that, it didn't taste half bad for a Starbucks offering.

Subject: Lavazza Perfetto Single-Serve Coffee K-Cups, Dark and Velvety Espresso Roast

Notes: Got it for 25% off at Amazon. No flavoring added. Surprisingly good - smooth and dark, takes my sweetener easily. Little bitterness to speak of. Very smooth. Highly recommended.

Hot coffee and a throbbing ear infection is not exactly a pleasant experience. Just sayin'.
