More new music - "Interweave" for mixed brass and woodwind chamber ensemble. Feedback appreciated.
@voltronic Thanks again! I hear you on the "luck of the dice," as well as on the tuba and low trombone. This was written for a competition (I didn't win), so I was limited to a set number of instruments. I didn't have room for any more than what I used, I'm sad to report.

Understood. Please don't think I'm telling you it's "missing" something; it's a great piece. It just reminded me a lot of some Shostakovich that I've played, and also some organ fugues so that's where my head went.
@voltronic I get your drift, my friend - no "missing" implied. 😜 And thank you for saying it reminds you of Shostakovich - that's a great honor, indeed!
@leejackson
I love the energy, tension, release, and startling ending. Fabulous!
@thereal_renaissance_man Wow, thank you! I'm glad you like it, especially the ending. I worked hard on that bit. Much obliged!
@leejackson
Very cool piece. I love your counterpoint and theme development. The only thing I would possibly want is to have tuba and bass trombone in low octaves hammering out the theme in augmentation while the rest of the ensemble is in the thick of things. I realize those instruments aren't part of your instrumentation, but I'm a bass head, and a big fan of Shostakovich preludes and fugues, and that's where this goes in my head.
Bravo!
