@leejackson So when my oldest daughter was at MTU she lived at sorority house. Because she is my kid. Must be outdoors mostly. A beautiful old lumber barron mansion I sent the sorority a porch swing and birdfeeder for her to study on. Other sisters joined her. They have a rule no alcohol in the house. A small pretty grey kitty would sit on the swing during the day. As it disappeared at night they thought it was someone's house cat. Later on they found fraternity next door was feeding it.

@leejackson Part 2. Because my daughter had senior project finals I brought her siblings up for Spring Break. I got a panicked 3 a.m. text. Mom! You are a nurse how do you revive hypothermia? When I came up I got to the house and their warm water bottle efforts etc failed. Kitty was found frozen solid on their pitch swing. Frat boy who had been secreting it inside for the night had left for Spring Break, the girls had found kitty at 3 am curled up on the swing. They tried to revive her.

@leejackson Part 3 the next day my other kids and my oldest daughter and i gave up on trying to dig kitty a grace since it was 19 below F. We had to take kitty to a veterinarian office. The sorority now donates to a charity fund for animals there and keeps heated straw lined coolers and electric heated water bowls on the porch. Nothing beats the shit show of having your child call you at three a.m. in a panic trying to revive a life.
