@Jeber this is why I use counter(dot)social on stuff. No idea if it works or not, but at least I tried :D

Today is the anniversary of "The pine tar incident"; MLB followers will know what I mean.

@Kimmycott Ohio State once (or more?) tried to copyright the word "The".

They'll try anything.

Just realized that with the new branding, the Melon will probably try to sue everything and everyone who uses the letter "X" for copyright infringement.

@CoSoTips I'm using the 'advanced' mode, and sometimes my columns (specifically the settings one) glitches. All I do is click on the logo in the upper left and it reloads and fixes the column.

so, is the brand change because

a. the target audience can't spell "Twitter"
b. it's what the Melon uses to stamp his mark (X everywhere)
c. it's what the target audience uses as a signature 95% of the time
d. it marks the spot
e. it means 'click here to close this window'
f. someone else is suing for the Twitter name
g. all of the above

@see_the_sus @spacesloth or not lol It's after midnight, my brain has already retired for the night.

@see_the_sus @spacesloth I'm going to guess that the roundabouts they are talking about are going to replace the crossover intersections connecting west- and east-bound 7th.

@see_the_sus @spacesloth Oh, I was incorrect - that's *not* a roundabout, that's where 7th splits.

Here's the Maps link, you'll need to turn the satellite layer on and get down to ground level to see it. The same house is in the background. News photo is looking SE. Maps does NOT have the bike path indicated.

It looks like the path was put in after the Maps car went thru, and the right turn traffic lane is now pushed out into the intersection.

@corlin :D Yep. I started in analog pre-press, right at the start of when they were transitioning to digital separations, so....1998? or so?We still did some conversion to duotones and such up til 2020, when the client wanted to use black and a pantone color. That was fun! NOT. lol

I don't miss doing autostepped exposures onto the plates by hand, either. Love my laser plateburner! Even if the RIP software we are using is still running on a WinXP box that's 20 years old.

@see_the_sus @spacesloth I believe the bikeway is the green lane. Looks like the double line of bollards is misleading because it delineates the auto lane and the bike lane but there's a SHOULDER in between. They should have used a single line of them, but I think the double line is there because the cars were turning too close to the bike lane. That's the side of a roundabout, and I'll guess the cars were trying to drive thru the bike lane to turn right as an alto to the single roundabout lane.

@mightymite I know a photographer friend who would have loved one of these about 10 years ago. A theatre company may have a use for them.

@corlin so, I looked at the fonts in the article and ISTG I did not realize that Calibi changed the "a", "e", and "g" shapes when moving from standard to italics. No idea.

I kinda like the new one, Aptos.

(and Yes, I work in the industry as well, I'm in a digital pre-press. I make the offset plates for 4 different kinds of 1- to 6-color offset presses)

Thanks for sharing the article!

Got a package today that I was expecting next *Tuesday* and it looks like it was at my local Fedex distro center for all of 8 minutes (4:37AM-4:45AM) before it was on a truck for delivery.

I'm impressed!
