@gshevlin Used to hear it all the time from people I know coming back from their annual fortnight in the Costas.....no decent fish and chips or fry,lack of British beer,can't get The Sun on time,etc,etc,etc. Still go back every fucking year though.
@FrankCannon There is a reason why I tend to cross the street in Europe to avoid any group of people that look British.
@gshevlin Spot them a mile off,bald,ale gut and Union Jack shorts,shirt or both.... and loud,very loud.
@FrankCannon The two classes of people that wear Union Jack clothing are ex-military, and/or the criminally insane. Both should be avoided wherever possible.
@gshevlin I wear exactly zero that flies the flag of any country,never have,never will.....more likely to see me with Liver Bird branding.But I know the type you're talking about all too well and yes,I see that on the streets,I'm walking away.
@FrankCannon countries are a completely false construct that only divide us
As far as I'm aware, not one single person chose in which country they would be born. Why defend an accident of birth to the detriment of people who had a different accident? Makes no damn sense. (Of course it's different for those born in God's countries π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώπ§π·) π€£π€£π
@FrankCannon @killingfloorman @tgraph52 I see it as the last relic of tribalism,.
@gshevlin I don't think we'll ever shed that while there's people doing their best to promote and exploit othering.
@killingfloorman @tgraph52
@killingfloorman ππ It's like being a Scouser,that supercedes everything.The whole Jingoistic outlook is something I find incredibly disturbing.Every country has faults,some more than others. @tgraph52 @gshevlin
