I'm going to hammer a stake in the ground here and say neither the Court of Appeals nor the Supreme Court is going to fall for a single bit of this codswallop.
I'm surprised some judge hasn't claimed to have lost IQ points for being forced to listen to this nonsense.
You can't try him unless he's been impeached and convicted, and you can't impeach him unless he's been tried and convicted. Mm-kay, you bet.
@mcfate the Supreme Court will accept his argument. It's what the Federalist Society has been working towards for half a Century
@mcfate i think you're underestimating what the right want and what they are capable of doing to achieve it. And that's exactly what they are counting on. They are not interested in rules, norms or laws as they apply to them.
We are in 2024 and there will be a case in front of the SC arguing that a conservative President (because it will only apply to them) is immune from prosecution. And that case is at the very least, 50-50.
I think you're frightened and it's making you make up catastrophes to explain to yourself why you're scared.
@mcfate not frightened. You can't solve the problem until you define the problem. The 'it could never happen here' brigade will be the downfall of Democracy
@killingfloorman
But that's nonsense. They care a lot, and not least because their standing is going down the drain and a decision like that would put two-thirds of the country against them even more.
This is nothing but unmoored catastrophizing.
I have no clue what "rules" you're referring to. Usually, it's called "the law".
