After 6 hours of PowerPoint development, my brain is officially fried.
(I can't even type this toot)

And, its .

Guess what I'm about to do?

We live in a country where one sanctimonious, simple-minded jackass can manipulate our legal system to force their beliefs upon us.

Rhetoric is quite powerful. Especially upon the simple-minded.

I just listened to Alan Alda's pocast interviewing Eric Topol about the COVID pandemic.

Interesting research being done on Long COVID. He says that 10s of Millions of Americans are probably experiencing it.

Also, the virus often finds a long-term home in the upper respiratory locations.

I wonder if we will find that the body has learned to compartmentalize pockets of the virus in the nasal cavities and just a little bit escapes to cause a low-grade battle that causes long-COVID.

I'm knee-deep in a tutorial on Angular so that I can build an application.
Exhausting.

Great news!!!
The transfers were about to kill 100 residents at Laguna Honda.

"I am writing to share the very good news that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) agreed to our request to continue the pause of involuntary transfers of Laguna Honda residents until September 19, 2023. CMS also extended payments for the care of our residents through March 19, 2024." --Roland Pickens

Start your day by doing quick tasks.

Then do a few tasks you have been meaning to do for too long.

Then get to work.

New "product" idea: Drone Mine/metal detector. Attach a large metal detector onto a drone. Fly it in a pattern over the farms of Ukraine to find the mines. Target each detection with a more precise drone-detector system. Then de-mine those that are discovered. They could clear more fields faster and get their production back wherever they reclaimed land from the Russians.

Here is a job for AI: Realtime fact-checking.
That CNN Trump "town hall" could have had a constant assessment of his statements being executed by an AI in a side panel. Faster than a human. Maybe it could be moderated by a producer, but the moderator wouldn't have to be on top of every lie.

I just paid for better service with .
I'm using it 80% of my day.
It's like I've hired a developer. An average-skilled developer, but at least one that moves the project forward and doesn't complain.
You still have to know how to ask precise questions and review the logic of what it delivers. So, there is still some skill involved.

How sad.
So many hours listening to Gordon Lightfoot. So many happy memories.

Wow, the late-night shows were executing a full-on, peg-the-needle gloat session last night.

I thought that this would be easy.
Ultimately, the parts were simple.
Finding the problems was not simple.
But, without Chat GPT I would NEVER have succeeded. There were just too many issues buried in error logs.

This will probably be my copilot moving forward. It's like a really experienced expert that lacks discernment. You have to put the guardrails on it to get what you want. That's going to be an important skill.

Big milestone tonight!

I've been trying to get a simple webpage to write to a database.
I wanted to use Docker Containers to manage all of the systems.

It took a week of collaborating with Chat GPT to work through the bugs. I just cleared the last test just now!

Chat GPT is incredibly useful, but it can lead you astray.
I often re-started the conversation to remove assumptions.

There is a lot of skill in asking the right question.
And proposing solutions to confirm or discount.

There are no old buildings built on sandy foundations.

Just because you are building does not mean it will last.

Consider the context.

I've started a few companies that were too early to survive in their markets, or were started when their markets were contracting.

Russia’s commando units gutted by war, U.S. leak shows

Typically, spetsnaz personnel are assigned the sorts of stealthy, high-risk missions ... for which they receive some of the Russian military’s most advanced training. But when Moscow launched its full-scale invasion last year, senior commanders eager to seize momentum and skeptical of their conventional fighters’ prowess deviated from the norm, ordering elite forces into direct combat...
