APEC is in town. Lots of black vans and SUVs and police escorts.

Surprisingly, traffic isn't as bad as you might expect.
Then again, everyone is avoiding the financial district and south-of-Market (SOMA).

I believe that any morally-guided person (aka: Good Person) should preface any statement on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with:

"What Hamas did was unacceptable. It was terrorism and nothing, NOTHING justifies terrorism."

If you are not coming from that perspective you are part of the problem.

You are comfortable with "whataboutism".

You will convince yourself that you understand the problem and believe you understand the solution as well.

Be a good person first.

Very strange!
She looked at me really weird. Then said "was that an earthquake?" I looked at the chandlers in the restaurant and they were not swinging. So, I said she was nutz. Then she gloated when it was on the news.

Apparently many felt it. Including my wife while we were at dinner. All over the news. I think I'm too insensitive.
