@sfleetucker Speaking of masculinity, what is masculine about Trump? A man who disparages women, never accepts responsibility for errors and blames others, who compares the risk of contracting an STD with being in combat, who ridicules disabled veterans, complains constantly about being a victim because people are out to get him, and has never been a “family” man.

@MarceloPaezPereda Yes, polls show a majority of Americans willing to vote for a woman, but that number is declining compared to a few years ago. And Hillary’s popular vote win was boosted by the populous blue states. She lost the swing states.

So, polls tell us that Americans aren’t sure they’re yet ready for a woman as president. Unlike the rest of the world’s democracies. Hmm. But they’re more than ready to elect a man who is a convicted felon? WTF is wrong with us?

@ToolPackinMama It is an issue. The debate was to be between the candidates for president. That doesn’t matter anymore because one of the candidates has changed? Why not? To use your logic, the debate should still be between Trump and Biden because that was the original deal.

Yup. I knew this would happen Trump is making excuses for why he won’t commit to debating Harris. He’s worried, and Harris is right to call the loudmouth out on it.

@floryloughead Well, yeah, we think they should be disqualified. Unfortunately, there are enough voters who think otherwise to make this election tight. Folks like us don’t understand how that could be possible, but, there it is. Trump so far is proving that tribe matters more than anything.

@floryloughead I can understand being undecided if both candidates have equivalent problems. But that’s not the case now. Not many candidates check all the boxes for a specific voter, so the pro/con lists have to be consulted. But Trump? What’s on the pro list for him? If you’re not a racist, misogynist, or billionaire?

Now that Biden has left the stage, will the media now turn on Trump - who is now the old candidate with serious cognitive issues, not to mention his legal jeopardy? Or will they focus on Harris as a problematic nominee? We’ll see. Especially if Harris has a minor stumble during the campaign. The Right loves to paint the MSM as liberal, but they miss the point. Yeah, the reporters probably are Democrats to a large degree, but they love to bring down candidates, no matter the party.

If you can still be an “undecided” voter after seeing Trump now and when he was president, bless your hearts. But who cares what you think now that Harris is the nominee for president? You have already shown you’re clueless, so your opinion isn’t worth a grain of salt. Why not just flip a coin? Or better yet, stay home on Election Day.

This morning I heard a name floated for Harris’s running mate: retired admiral James Stavridis. Interesting. I’ve seen him numerous times on Morning Joe. He’s intelligent, thoughtful, articulate, logical in global strategy. He was considered by Hillary for vice president in 2016. He’d be an excellent choice, in my view.

Now the big suspense will be Harris’s running mate. Several candidates floated: Beshear (probably wants it because a continued career in Kentucky unlikely); Kelly of Arizona (but then we’d lose a senator); Shapiro (we need him to stay in Pa); Whitmer (good for winning Michigan, but two women=too much of a good thing); Moore of Maryland (your turn will come, and two people of color would be risky); Cooper of North Carolina (checks all the boxes, and my favorite choice).

@lifeinthePNW Expect more such outrageous claims from the Rs in the weeks to come.

Before Joe stepped down, the Dems had two chances to win in November, but Slim had just left town. Now they’re in the driver’s seat. Money is pouring in, Trump is now the too-old candidate with cognitive issues, not to mention his being a criminal and, of course, he’s still the Trump who nobody really likes. Slept well last night!

@PoliticalEd I hear you. Those LIV golfers should be only playing in the desert or on Trump courses. Letting them play in Majors is a disgrace.

On a lighter note on this big news day, any golf fans out there who watched the Open on TV this weekend? I see a few hands go up. Okay, what did you think of the coverage? I’m posting this, so obviously I think it sucked.

They’ve been making movies for years featuring women as American presidents. Will this be the time when reality finally catches up with fiction?

Head of the NYS Dem Party:

“I have never admired Joe Biden more than I do today.  Voluntarily ceding the nomination and forgoing a chance to serve for another four years in the job that he did so well in and spent a lifetime dreaming of attaining, is as noble an act as ever recorded in America’s political history.  Joe Biden’s selflessness; his putting country and party above his own personal desires, places him in the category of every great political leader since George Washington….”
