#politics This morning I heard a name floated for Harris’s running mate: retired admiral James Stavridis. Interesting. I’ve seen him numerous times on Morning Joe. He’s intelligent, thoughtful, articulate, logical in global strategy. He was considered by Hillary for vice president in 2016. He’d be an excellent choice, in my view.

#politics Now the big suspense will be Harris’s running mate. Several candidates floated: Beshear (probably wants it because a continued career in Kentucky unlikely); Kelly of Arizona (but then we’d lose a senator); Shapiro (we need him to stay in Pa); Whitmer (good for winning Michigan, but two women=too much of a good thing); Moore of Maryland (your turn will come, and two people of color would be risky); Cooper of North Carolina (checks all the boxes, and my favorite choice).

#politics Before Joe stepped down, the Dems had two chances to win in November, but Slim had just left town. Now they’re in the driver’s seat. Money is pouring in, Trump is now the too-old candidate with cognitive issues, not to mention his being a criminal and, of course, he’s still the Trump who nobody really likes. Slept well last night!

@PoliticalEd I hear you. Those LIV golfers should be only playing in the desert or on Trump courses. Letting them play in Majors is a disgrace.

On a lighter note on this big news day, any golf fans out there who watched the Open on TV this weekend? I see a few hands go up. Okay, what did you think of the coverage? I’m posting this, so obviously I think it sucked.

They’ve been making movies for years featuring women as American presidents. Will this be the time when reality finally catches up with fiction?

#politics J.D. Vance, once the champion of the working man and severe critic of Trump, saw his path to power and took it. And been rewarded for it. But little does he know it will only be a brief stay in the limelight.

#politics If Biden had been the one giving a rally and had been shot in the ear by a leftie (Crooks was apparently a Republican and NRA member), Republicans would say it was a conspiracy to turn Biden into a hero and martyr. Just sayin’. Some Rs are already claiming it was the Dems fault by unfairly demonizing their guy.

#politics Trump rants about our terrible economy, despite numbers that say otherwise. Guess what? If he’s elected, he’ll use those same numbers to brag about how he created the greatest economy in history. And all those MAGA voters, who complain about the prices of eggs and gas, will suddenly think inflation has been cured, thanks to the dear leader. Even when inflation rises again due to his policies.
