#DeathofHypocrisy Sen. Tim Scott said that if he were elected President, he’d get DOJ to go after Hunter Biden to finish the job that so far has failed. This from a man who has accused Biden of weaponizing DOJ.
I’m back! Took all day to get from San Diego to Wilmington, N.C. And then an Uber ride to my brother-in-law’s house (He was supposed to pick us up from the airport, but he had to go to N.J. on an emergency) . Then, the next morning, the 50-minute drive to Oak Island.
Gotta tell you, flying ain’t fun, but doing it First Class made it tolerable. Never again will I fly regular across the country. Is it worth the extra cost (more than three times the regular rate)? No! But it beat the alternative!
@CelluloidBlonde If gauche weren’t already a word, we’d have to invent it to describe much of Trump’s decor.
@sazemisery A chandelier in the bathroom. Really? Detracts from all that box-decor.
@LiberalLibrarian That would have made a great title if Trump had been convicted in the Senate!
@scottlink And let’s not forget that some documents are still missing.
@scottlink Yeah, McCabe’s probably right. But house arrest, if he gets convicted of espionage, seems kinda light.
@LiberalLibrarian That would be some duty, huh? Would they have to stay in his cell or just wait around for the times he’s out with the population? “My Years In Prison Without Being Convicted.” A Secret Service agent’s memoir. Should make the NYT bestseller list!
@LiberalLibrarian Hope you’re right. But there won’t be justice until Trump is finally held to account for his crimes. Impeachment didn’t do it, and mere indictment, though a good thing, doesn’t do it either.
@danielbsmith Seems risky to depend on her now being unbiased because she’s got something to prove following her castigation by the appeals court. Smith should ask for a recusal, IMO.
@JPSCHWEIZER63 He should be concerned about getting an impartial judge! Okay, all judges are supposed to be impartial, but Cannon has already demonstrated she ain’t.
@Razdawg22 Sure looks that way. Remember, Trump went judge shopping for his first go-round in the documents case and picked her, whom he’d appointed. Then she bent over backwards to give him a break. And it wouldn’t surprise me if the jury is comprised of residents of The Villages!
Are you kidding me? Judge Cannon, she who had ruled that a special master was needed in the classified documents case and got reversed by a conservative appeals court - twice! - will be the judge in Trump’s trial. It’s supposed to be a random selection. Sure doesn’t look like it. What’s going on? She needs to be recused!
@HazmiMenexenus That power was established in Marbury vs Madison in 1803. But you’re right - it’s not enumerated in the Constitution as one of its powers.
@catlynne333 That IS a surprise!
Commissioner Monahan did not do enough to avoid a merger with LIV. Okay, the PGA Tour was in financial trouble, but weren’t there Wall Street tycoons who could have invested in the PGA to keep it afloat until LIV collapsed? Because LIV was not sustainable. Saudi money is not infinite, TV networks don’t cover it, and where would it get young players to replace the aging has-beens?
