Will any trial of Trump’s multiple indictments actually get underway before the 2024 election? Doubt it. So the only thing Trump has to do to stay out of jail is to win that election. All the indictments will then be quashed. No trials. Like it never happened.

Very interesting that Mark Meadows is not named ( or implied) in the latest indictment. Indicates to me he’s cooperated with Jack Smith’s investigation.

Obstruction of an official proceeding. Can someone explain to me why this is the serious charge every legal pundit thinks it is? For an example, if, during a vote in the House, someone comes running down the aisle in the house, naked, waving a flag, and tooting a horn and evades security for five minutes or so, is he guilty of obstructing an official proceeding? Well, yes. Of course. Seems to me there should be a more serious sub paragraph to that charge involving Trump.

It’s not technically illegal to pay for the lawyers for those accused of the same crimes as you, but it reeks of conflict of interest, something we’ve already seen in Abby Grossberg’s suit against Fox News and with Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony preparation for the J6 hearings. Would a lawyer urge his client to accept an immunity plea deal that involves flipping on the one who is paying him? He should, of course, but would he?

@BlueRevolution He’d be following the playbook of Eugene Debs who, while serving a ten-year sentence, ran for president in 1920 and received 3% of the vote!

@allin And we know how Trump keeps promises, right? Once they’ve taken a bullet for their guy, Trump will be done with them. And likely will put the blame on them for acting without his knowing about it.

@ProjectShadow Trump only helps those who can benefit him. Would he pardon those J6 rioters sent to prison? Hell no.

@cassandra17lina I hope you’re right, but it doesn’t look that way now.

So the MAGA crowd doesn’t care about Trump indictments. It’s political, the Deep State, a corrupt DOJ, etc. Fine. But what if their beloved leader is behind bars? What then? Riots in the streets would be their only option. Even if Trump makes a deal to avoid prison time - a real possibility - he’d be barred from public office. And there’d still be riots in the streets. Thanks, DJT, for bringing us into another civil war.

@TheNewsOwl Well, why doesn’t she then? Why wait another month?

@mightymite Thanks, Micha! All I can is rest, unfortunately. And that doesn’t include sleep!

@walterbays Thanks, Walter. Had to cancel an appointment, because I’m stuck in the house.

After staying safe for three years, including two vaccinations and a booster, all it took was a funeral in N.J. to bring me down with Covid! Day three of feeling miserable.

Well, even though it isn’t Twitter any longer, posted comments are still called tweets. Maybe eventually they’ll be called Xhibits?

Inflation is down, as is unemployment, and the Fed says the risk of a recession is diminished. So what happens today? Dow down over 200 points. Go figure.
