Hi.
This is your now frequent reminder that the extremely loud fascists on the right do not speak for everyone who identifies as "Republican," and you're giving them an in-kind gift every time you group them all together.
@kel While not all Republicans are fascists, all fascists are Republican. To prevent being tarred with the same brush, the anti-fascist Republicans need to fight back against their fascist brothers in the party. I’m not holding my breath.
@johnldeboer That's not how it works, and frankly you wouldn't see them "fighting back" even if they were.
@kel I’m old enough to remember when that was the way it did work. The classic example is Goldwater telling fascist Nixon he had to resign or the Senate would convict him upon impeachment.
@kel We seem to be talking past each other, in that you’re misinterpreting what I’ve said, and I’m not sure what you’re saying. But it sounds like you’re saying that Democrats and Republicans working together for the common good has never been a thing. Or at least it was too uncommon to matter. Do I have that right?
@johnldeboer Is there another term that fits better?
