Ugh I don't want to have to get a real computer, but Google shoving a Recall-like feature into #ChromeOS would do it.

Wonder if Microsofts complete uturn on recall, You can now choose whether or not you want Recall active during installation. It is no longer active by default - "Windows Hello" enrollment is now required to enable Recall, will make Google think more about user control
@ecksmc yeah Gemini showed up in my omnibox the other day. I wasn't able to find a way to disable it, but at least it doesn't seem to be doing anything in the background or getting in the way.
Yet.
@john_b I'm seriously wondering what options there will even be for rejecting these products. It's not like we have a competitive industry where some companies will offer AI-enabled hardware and some will offer something else.
I don't want a computer that answers to someone other than me.
