@rpardee It should be able to last a lot longer than another "decent laptop" though, with upgradeable/replaceable components which simply aren't an option with most other laptops.
Laptops are so prone to obsolescence. A great machine today might only be viable for a couple of years at most, even assuming it doesn't have a hardware failure. Framework's approach should let you keep the same laptop going for much longer.
Just something to consider.
@john_b ah--interesting. Yeah, that approach is sooo cool. I would def splurge on one if I was in the market. But it's this is her spending her own money, and it's like 3x what you can get a decent laptop for, so she's hesitant...
