Folks, it's called "global warming". It means exactly what it says. We've been warning about this for decades. But the conservatives would rather let the ocean levels rise, let the glaciers melt.
The human race, taken as a whole, is not much smarter than the rest of the animal kingdom, having spent 1&1/2 centuries pumping greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, assuming that it wouldn't make a difference.
