Mental illness is what my oldest has in spades sadly...schizophrenic tendencies, narcassistic and epilepsy...I hold out hope but she is not able or willing anymore to put in the work to get marginally better. She hangs on to her reality(delusions)with the strength of a dying person. She has had this since she was young but has fought against any change all her life. Her demons are her friends I think. I am gutted that I have to accept this.

Epilepsy isn't a mental illness, it is a neurological disorder. Sufferers of this disease have been plagued by this misplaced stigma for centuries.

@jjGravitas I am aware of that. She has co-diagnosis (whatever the plural for that is) which I mentioned and is on in-jectable anti psychotics, has many times tried to take her own life. Meeting her where she is is what I struggle with. Epilepsy is incredibly damaging to both your brain and body. She is my daughter and I know who she was to who she is now. Thats where the acceptance comes in.
